Hawaiian Black Reef Sand

That's a shame as i was going to surprise the Mrs on getting her black sand for the newer setup. I guess i'll stay away from that idea! :(

My sand sifting star has no problem in it and my diamond goby easily dug out a burrow for himself.

I have the carrib sea hawaiian black sand and have no problems. I have a pink spotted goby who sifts it just fine, nassarius snails and conches that get under it just fine, and sand sleeping wrasses that dive into it just fine.

[emoji25] Yeah, mine did too. I replaced him with a Randall's goby. It's prettier, but not nearly as interesting. It doesn't do much and hides a lot. If anything happens to it, I'll get another diamond for sure. Maybe tie a string around it this time.

That's a nice one as well. I have a watchman in mine and that's all he does is hide watch and eat. LOL Diamond gobie is a workhorse but known jumpers unfortunately my LFS i ordered mine from lost 3 in the process ordering for me and then that happened to me as well. LOL
Yep i hear ya. Put a leash on him LOL... I saved him after he jumped into one of the overflows to then find him on the back of the tank dried up! All that work i did to save him for him to kill himself smfh... I'll have a canopy on my new build and hope to contain him/her and hope for the best LOL

I upgraded to a larger tank after a year and a half and decided to go with Caribesea Fiji pink this time. But there was no problem with the black when I got rid of it. I actually sold it on Craigslist.

I absolutely loved my black sand.... Ill see if i can dig up some pics for ya. None of my critters had a problem, and i had this little tank up for a few years.
