So, my first fish in my 125 gallon was a flame hawkfish who seems to be eating and behaving just fine. The problem is that the flame hawk has had muted coloration for a while now and I've also recently noticed a white streak on the hawkfish's side. And even a few speckles on the other side. I'm worried that it has ich maybe from a cross contamination with QT equipment? Here are some photos.

Picutre of the white streak. I'm really not sure what it could be.

The spots are sort of around the black streak if you look closely. This was the best quality image I could get since they kept swimming away from me before I could get a good shot.

I suppose my question is do you think this could be ich and if so, how should I go about treating it? I already have a 20 gallon QT up but there's already 2 fish in there and the ammonia's still kind of higher than I'd like it. I also have a 10 gallon invert QT that I was thinking I could swap with the flame hawkfish. Add the inverts into the tank since I'll be going fallow anyways and treat the hawkfish in there until the DT is done. I'm not sure. I did do a 10 gallon water change today too so I'm not sure. Any help?

I don’t see any overt signs of ich. The fish’s color is a bit muted, not sure why. How long have you had it and have you medicated it with anything yet?

I've already asked about the coloring and people seem unsure too. To make sure I had nothing, I put the fish into a freshwater bath and there were no signs of flukes either. My guess is maybe since its a new tank there could be some ammonia due to feeding? They've always looked like this since the day I got them into the QT so I'm really not sure why its super muted to be honest. But if there's no signs of ich then I guess that's good for now. Just trying to find out whats going on with them.

Oh, you need to test for ammonia in a new tank.

I already cycled it before but now I checked it and it seems to be around 0.2.-0.4. Maybe I should feed a bit less for a while or clean out some things?
Yes, zero ammonia is best, but definitely keep it below 0.25.
You can add bottled bacteria, do water changes, add seed bacteria from another tank, or even ammonia neutralizers.
Siphoning out waste and uneaten food is also good to do.
