This thing has been bulletproof through a few crashes. It’s almost volleyball sized now and I plan to let it get to basketball size. Anyone else have a colony of this old school piece?

I just got one of a very generous and sizeable frag (mini colony) from the frag swap last weekend. I wasn't a fan of smooth skin acros until I got it in my tank at home.

I'm starting to freak out a bit because I'm seeing signs of STN in some parts, and just read that they are sensitive to dips- which I absolutely did before putting it in :/

Beautiful! What’s the secret?
No secret. Just good husbandry - good water quality, lots of flow and great lighting!

What does that mean?
Nevermind, I see what you are saying. I've never had a problem dipping them, but they are horrible shippers for sure.

I’m just joshin around- read that they are sensitive to dipping.

I never tried d Ice Fire one. Wonder if it’s different than Hawkins

It is different and very nice, but just as sensitive.

Yeah mine started to recede at the base in my new tank. Moving it into higher flow completely stopped it.

I just did the same with mine yesterday when I got home from work. Crossing my fingers that it'll recover; I want to avoid having to frag it. Maybe I'll post a picture later today.

What is Turaki than? I see some people have Turaki i Hawkins… Thx
