An oldie but a goodie!!! I also have one, and love to watch it grow! I had some tips break off on mine, the sice of pencil lead. I glued them to a plug and they are growing there also.

the “true” Hawkins tables out into sort of a thick cushion shape in my experience (like yours). If you want the long spreading branches try the Coolers Turaki or the Reefnation Purple Turaki. There are a lot of fake Hawkins passed around.

@therman ty for that info. My frag seems to be tabling as it grows. Do you have the Coolers or reefnation?

Here's a picture of mine. Ended up growing in a heart like formation. As everyone said its an oldie but definitely a goodie.

Yep, have both big enough to frag

Also Red Dragon, Icefire echinata, RMF Last Dragon, and an obscure BC "Rainbow" turaki, if you are interested in bottlebrushes in general.

Awesome thank you! I was thinking of using kalk alongside my calcium reactor to help raise PH especially going into winter when the house is all closed up and PH seems to drop some. what kalk do you use in your reactor? BRS. Seems to have helped, I started in winter for that reason too.

Mine is a “true” Hawkins direct from ORA and it seems to be bushy instead of tabling.

Yeah it starts bushy like that and sort of tables out. Other turakis shoot straight up and make long "bottlebrush" branches, which I have not seen Hawkins do.
