Suggestions please! I am having an issue with my glass getting a haze even after water changes. I have a skimmer and only running carbon. Looking top down water looks perfect. Should I run some type of phosphate media ie GFO, Phosguard? Thanks!

How old is the tank?

What's your water pramameters?

My tank is about four months old. I have low nutrients and only run a skimmer and carbon as well.

I still get a little haze on the glass about every other day. It wipes off fairly easily though. I also get a little Cyanobacteria on the rocks. Tank is otherwise healthy. Seems normal to me I guess.

Post a picture of it if you feel it is really bad. Let’s see it.

I understand it's normal, but didn't think it was normal to happen so quickly.

Not being able to see the 'haze' makes it difficult to know what you are dealing with. But I think there was a thread on R2R within the last several months asking people how frequently they need to wipe the glass on their tank. From the responses I saw most people wipe their aquarium glass every couple of days... presumably to remove micro algae growth. Some people wipe the glass every day just to get the clearest view of their reef possible. So you may not be dealing with anything out of the ordinary.

On another note, there is a product called Vibrant which has been discussed on R2R several times. You can search those threads to see what's been said about it. I use Vibrant in my own tank as part of my maintenance routine and it is notorious for helping to keep the glass clean. You might want to give it a try. Since I began using Vibrant I only need to wipe the glass about once per week.

Good luck!
