HD's 144 1/2 Moon

So going with dry rock and live sand. I don't get into Facebook but the wife does. She said everyone is saying good things about Billy's Rocks. How many pounds do you think I need to roll with? I'm thinking lbs, the wife thinks more. I don't want a tank crammed with a ton of rocks. What are you thoughts?

Slow build, but getting closer to filling it. Wife ordered 100 lbs of rock for me and said "surprise", now guys how awesome is that! Picked up a Bubble Magnus Curve 7 in great shape. Down to an ro/di unit, salt, trash can and heater. Still trying to figure how to mount my lights. The design of the canopy will make it challenging. Possibly from hang from the ceiling to make removing the canopy easier and still have light in the tank for cleaning.

What's a great and dependable heater?

Thinking about the brs 4 stage 75 gpd. Are these good units?

Ok my reefing family I starting to toss rock in, but I am looking for advice/options. The shape of the tank does make it a challenge, not that I'm complaining because I really like the look.

Aquascaping...I know it's kind of subjective but I would still like to hear recommendations. As you can see in the pic it's a fairly deep tank, do I or should I follow the overflows and place the rock against the back of the tank to add support to the structure? I don't think I will need to clean the back of the tank or will I? I know verticle is about my only option due to the depth, but I don't want to keep adding more rock and engulf my tank. I want to allow as much swimming space as possible. At this point in time I plan to do some hammers, frogspawns, mushrooms, nems and of course my fish. Harder to keep corals will come somewhere down the road. What do you think?

Just read this. Missed it until now. Did you ever figure out the rock?

Very nice! I really like the tank and its place in the room. That shape of tank is certainly a challenge, but will also be unique as it evolves. Keep us updated after the fill!

Will do, thank you sir!

I have a small bow front in the living room and I love all the different views walking around it. You have a great spot
Thanks, I wanted a spot where it can be viewed anywhere in the room. I'll probably question that decision when it goes through the uglies, at least for a short time. I will have to check your bow front out!

Didn't I send along my pics of the hinged top with lights built in?

Ok....anybody?o_O
Anyone? ;Sorry
Somebody....:(
Ok, as you know, I've got 2 of those tanks and have decorated them a few times. Have a friend who is an interior decorator and here's the long and short of what I've learned:
- don't symmetrical - which is what you have now
- have 2 piles with one higher than the other
- make the caves as big as possible
- leave maximum open space in the middle - even all the way to the back
- remember it is easier to add pieces of rock than take them out
