Ok, so I'm fuming. I'm like insanely angry right now. I was taking photos of the reef. A not so nice fish chased my copperband from his area. I turn around to put the camera down and turned back to the tank. In that instant, the copperband met his fate. It is now dead. Stiff as a board. I don't know what the heck happened. I'm beyond speech and disbelief. I just got him Saturday. I had to drive 2 hours just to get him! *grumbles*

Someone please tell me they play possum?

Sorry to read this. It happened to me with a tail spot goby and I was devasted cause it happened in front of my eyes and there was nothing I could do. How old was the copperband?

Umm no. I had the same thing happen to a Yellow Tang once. Weirdests thing I've ever seen. If he was playing dead, his gills would still be moving, but......Im guessing they stopped also.

Wishful thinking. I know they don't. I'm just taken aback by how sudden this was...

That was probably a strange thing to see. I don't know it's age. He was small, around 3".

It's a helpless feeling. The worst feeling, we don't realize it but this is a perfect example how much we are attached to our fish. It's like a pet being ran over by a car and we were there watching it. I have a copper bandit you can have him but a warning he picks on softies. He got to come out cause he is costing me money already killed two scolys.

Sorry to hear that.
They are on them self difficult fish to keep or to get them to eat.
You think the copper has anything to do with it......................... :drum:

It's very tempting. But I have lots of softies. I'll consider it. Mine didnt even look at them. I'm afraid if I took you up on the offer it wouldn't go well for me. I knew it was a 50/50 shot. I seen him eat at the store; eagerly.

That is just crazy...I'm so sorry he just died like that.
I've had fish where I've had to stare at them and wait for the gills to move just to make sure.

That flat stinks...sorry to hear about this.

Sorry to hear this. I guess I have just had extremely good fortune with Copperbands. Don't give up on them.
