Do I have to leave the heater on in my qt with no fish in it? With no heat it will probably be around 67
Or will my nitrifying bacteria die

you should be fine the bacteria won’t die in those temps unless they have a temp shock. so be sure to increase the temp slowly when u plan to use it

No need to heat it, but you might need to feed it or else it can die.

No to heat, yes to feed. Pinch of flake food a week should do it.
