Yep.. temp probe was up top.. and I just forgot to move the heater to the display tank.. All I had left was wire management.. I was done..
Hang in there my friend.one thing is for sure- if you keep at it, I’m sure you won’t do this again lol. See? Learning experience ;)

Man really sucks you are getting out but that was a huge mistake what you did. As far as taking down cause my counterpart I get rid of her first. I mean what the heck if that's your hobby it is what it is. Now if you are constantly making those mistakes she is right man go get in another hobby fly kites or play checkers cause this hobby is costly.

I had a tank seem leak and empty half the tank in my new tank room build. It had already been a bad day too. I had just rebuilt another cube to complete all my main tanks too, only to come home to this. Heaters didn’t blow, but water poured onto mounted power strips popping the breaker. My wife helped me clean up the water and transfer the livestock between other tanks and or Rubbermaid until I can fix it. It was a horrible time. Didn’t get to bed until 1:00am. I was super discouraged with one step forward and two steps back. Everybody here gets it. Like another poster did listing all the simple things forgotten becoming huge mistakes. Your experience “is all of us” I think. I won’t list them all now. LoL.
Is there a safe alternative place you can put your tank that’s whoops proof that your wife won’t be as concerned with. I’m actually in the basement because “I” can’t accept the damage a failed tank can cause. I’ve made all the whoopsies.
I would just take a break and read lots of threads for therapy here and eventually replace the baffle. Get some failsafes built in.

I was in a hurry, and yep!! Will never make that mistake again.. I am bartering to put in an all in one system in on the 40 breeder just to get back going.. that way I don’t have to worry about a sump right now.. Trying to get some skin back in the game..
