Heater Controller Probes

Quick question from a newbie to the hobby, I've just bought a heater controller which has dual probes. Should they both go in the sump? Or one in the sump one in the weir? Not sure how they're supposed to work, is one purely for redundancy?

Yes. Mainly redundancy, yes. You may want to space them slightly apart (4" or so).
