As a newbie, I am researching how I am going to get started with a saltwater reef aquarium. I have recently purchased a used reef-ready (drilled tank with internal overflow) glass tank. As I am preparing to source the components that I need, I am looking for the right heater. In a BRSTV video, Ryan explained five different heaters. However, I am not sure which one is correct for my application. I was planning on putting the heater horizontally in my sump, so that eliminates the Cobalt neotherm. I was thinking of 2 smaller ones, rather than one bigger one (300 watts). I welcome suggestions. Thanks

I'm currently using the northern mounted horizontally. No issues and I love it. Keeps my temp very stable. If you watch the brs 52 weeks of reefing they use a bunch of neotherms layed out horizontally in their sump.
