So I have a 66gal cube with a 29gal sump (about half full) so I'm figuring it's a Max around 75-80 gallon set up.. I have two heaters right now a eheim jäger 125 and a 200. And my temperatures won't go above 72*.... Both heaters are maxed out... Any ideas what's going on

Can you list your equipment and pumps etc.? You are in NY so I take it your place gets pretty cold or its in the garage. Are those heater numbers in watts? If so, that should be plenty unless like above stated not calibrated or they aren't working properly. Do you have them connected to a controller as a fail safe? I would advise you do that as well once you figure this out.

It's in my living room and once I posted this I've done more research and found out I was dumb... My electronic thermometer was reading the ambient room temperature and not the probe temperature. It's figured out now at 85* -__- anyone know the desired tank temperature? I've heard 72-78 and 82-84.. So it's a big swing. What's most popular? And I plan on getting a controller at some point.

Marineland LED light, eBay powerheads , mag 7 return, removed the skimmer, 750 overflow, gods water with salt added by instant ocean. And the two heaters from eheim and yes 125w and 200w
