How do you keep the heater in the Brute mixing can from melting the plastic? Don't want to rely on the moving water within the barrel would like to have some type of separator in there so the heater cannot contact the Brute. Until now I've always used a glass hex tank as my mixing station

thanks

I have hung mine through a hole in the center top of the lid. Hole just big enough for the plug to come through.. Having the same trepidation of a meltdown as you might be having.. This was my cheapest solution. Oh tied a knot in the cord so it could not drop into the can further as well.

I have also mounted some clips to a piece of acrylic that would hold the heater hoping it might separate the heater from the can. When the pump is on it whipped it around more.. so I went with the hole in the top middle.

Just a couple possibles for you to play with

Thanks for the suggestions

My fires run hot.. dont know that I can control temp enough to boil water in a milk jug.. but then I have never tried it.
You don't have to control temp. Water conducts heat so well that it pretty much all has to boil off before the plastic can get any hotter than 212.
