Do you see any issues with dropping the heater in the corner overfl0w?

My sump is tight and I can only fit real small heaters in there

As long as there is no chance of the water level dropping below the heater when the pump shuts off. Usually a herbie or bean animal will drain when the return pump shuts off, and the heater would be out of the water, quickly ruining it.

Well I have a herbie type overflow in the corner overflow, and the water only goes down to the lower pipe, so I should be good, Thanks for the response
