Heater in sump only

Yes, heater in the sump is perfectly fine and very common. Also agree with what has been said above, and I like the idea of a heater in an overflow.

Thinking about removing display Heater and keeping only one in sump what do y’all think
Is the heater controlled by a separate temperature probe and controller? If so you'll want to also have the probe in the sump, separate compartment to the heater and upstream from it.

If you have the probe in the DT and heater in the sump then if the return pump fails you'll overheat the sump.

If i understand correctly you currently have 2 heater? One in DT and one in sump? If so then no way to answer the question without more info.

I have one big one in display and one small one in sump. I’m thinking of keeping just small one in sump because the eurobrace on tank interferes with suction of display heater on glass
