heater issue on Apex

Newly set up system and trying to run the tank at around 84 to help the cycling. Noticed tonight that the apex is not turning on the outlet for both heaters even though they should be. If I switch them to the on position they do go on, but not on auto. I have it set to 77 on and 84 off. The current temp is 78.8 and obviously dropping. What am I doing wrong or is it the Apex? thanks!

First of all, I suggest not running heaters on the Apex.
Secondly, it's working the way you programmed it: It will turn them on at 77 and off at 84. You'll want to change the programming to turn them on at about 83.5 and off at 84.5.

If the tank hit 84 degrees, it turned off and it won't turn back on until it drops to 77 degrees. Probably need to set the off point higher then the thermostat setting on the heaters.

As you set it up, the outlet will turn on when the temp falls below 77.
Change the 77 to 81.
