Looks like my titanium heater blew. I had in sump of my 125. I had another heater in there and I just threw in a small heater I was using in a 40 gallon. Temperature is 75 right now. Think I’ll be ok til tokorrow with 2 small heaters only. Any recommendations on what to buy and what temp is best to keep Fowlr. Usually had it on like 78

My two cents....I like Eheim Jager heaters. Their glass is twice as thick as other glass heaters. My only complaint is that they are long, so make sure they fit.

My other bit of advice, use two heaters that totally equal the watts you need. The reason, regardless of brand, they will eventually die, and with two heaters, the other will at least keep temperature warm enough to keep everything alive.

Last bit of advive, run both those heaters with a controller. The reason is one of the failures of heaters is they get stuck ON. Without the controller, you cook your tank.

I just had to replace one of my heaters on a 125 gallon. Going with the Inkbird controller this time. Tank temp dropped to 72 B4 I noticed. I keep my mixed reef at 77

Are you going to monitor your temp going forward? To avoid an unnoticed drop again?

im with those above eheim jager + inkbird controller. It is super cheap from amazon if you havent checked em out yet. I got mine years ago before the aquarium version with the plastic cover, just still works great and i have had 2 jager break in the last 10 years (i mean that is just incredible but you never know wen sht is gonna happen)
