Just filled the Biocube 32. Two questions.
1 I have the heater in chamber 3. Should it be fully submerged or is it ok for the temperature dial to be above water. The instructions show a picture of it being fully submerged. It’s a cobalt neo-therm 150w

2. what temperature should I be cycling the tank at?
Thanks for your help.

I'm not familiar with that type of heater...but I'd cycle around 77-78 degrees.

That’s a good question about if it should be fully submerged. I have the 100 watt Neo Therm on a biocube 32. I have it in the farthest right chamber fully submerged set to 78. I could not find the answer to your question in the manual. If no one can answer your question on the forum here just give Cobalt a call. I’ve had good luck with their customer service. Happy reefing!

I keep mine in sump at 78.5 via heater controller

The instruction book actually shows the entire heater submerged. I have it in chamber 3 against the back wall. A little hard to read without pulling it out though. Do you think it matters between chamber 1 or 3?

Either chamber is fine. I have it in Chamber 1 so I can see the heater light. In chamber 3 I have a HOB skimmer and the return pump

Question about heater and thermometer placement. I have a 75 gallon SOWLR with a 20 gallon trickle sump filter. Can i put a 400 watt heater in the return chamber of the sump and the temp probe mid way across the back of the tank and controll the heater so the tank stays at temp or would that not work?
