So for my 90g tank should I do 2-150w or 2-200w? for back up. Also my sump/reg might not fit these large 200w ones.. Also I read to use a inkbird blue controller for back up.

Any advice?

I do two 250w in my 70g. Not because I need 500w of heating power but because at least one will fail eventually and the 2nd will keep my tank from getting too cool before I discover the faulty heater.

Do you think the 150w will run longer then the 200w? due to the fact that a 90g needs a 200w and only 1 heater will run as the other one is a back up? Would the 150w use more energy because it has to run longer?

I think that 2 150W will run slightly longer on a guess only, but if one is stuck on it will not overheat your tank as much. Either way 150 or 200, with 2 Ehiems and the controller you will be pretty safe. Let the heaters internal controllers do the work and if the other controller is a degree higher you will know if one of your heaters is not working correctly.

Alright, Thanks Ill do 2-200w and have 1-200 set and right temp and another set at a slightly higher temp then have the inkbird controller set at a even little hire temp that will kill the power on both if they go wild! Sounds like a solid plan to me!
