Starting on a new 340 gallon build, should have new tank in the coming weeks was wanting everyone's thoughts on a big aqua logic in line heater or 2 titanium heaters probably finnex setup in a redundant mode (I'm thinking 300 watts per heater) what are everyone's thoughts?

Agreed on redundancy. Heaters fail and it's nearly always in the on position. If one sticks it's less likely to cook the tank.

Agreed, at least with multiple heaters it can take longer to over heat and be caught or just keep the others from kicking on. Having a controller on them is wise as well.

Opinions on size, I will have approx 400 gallons total volume. And it will be controllked by apex

I don't know exactly how many you would need. I'm sure there is a rule of thumb out there.

I can tell you I run two 150w heaters during the late spring and summer, and a third 100w during the colder months. Considering I have my sump in a unfinished basement and a total water volume of 180. House stays around 75 average year round.

I run my 2 controllable eheim on apex. its double redundancy. Never have to worry about tank getting over cooked. I just had to replace both of mine. That lasted about 5 to 6 years.

So question is wattage on 2 heaters. Setup in reduntant config. Tank is in temp controlled room . 5 degrees or less in temp differences
