I purchased two HMH 100 Watt Titanium Heater w/Digital Display & Remote Sensor - Finnex heaters and they both arrived with faulty internal sensors. Error code and alarm every time I plugged them in after following the manufacturers recommendations. Troubleshot with Finnex for two days with no success. I'm faced with the choice of returning them to be repaired or replaced but I must say my confidence is zero with this product. I can also return to Saltwater Aquarium for a full refund.

Can anyone recommend a reliable heater for a 22 gallon tank with a 12 gallon sump. They will be placed in the sump which is 12" deep (front to back) so the length needs to be no longer that ~9". Thanks!

JBL makes a 150 but its 9.5"

Just adding for someone else to find- I just received 2 Finnex HMH-300 heaters and have the exact same error code issue on both, they must have a bad batch of these out of water sensors- its a shame, I was looking to replace 2 older finnex titanium heaters that have worked flawlessly for about 2 years now. I'm pretty sure these would be great heaters if not for the out of water sensors, which is why I debated buying them in my head for about 2 weeks- should have trusted my instincts.
