What region of the country do you live? Even though I live in sunny Florida, we do not run the heat when it gets cold. I have a 80 gal water volume system and the 300w would not keep up on the cold days. I switched up to a 500W finnex and the temp stays steady on cold days;). I will getting another for backup but the finnex heater for myself have been solid using with the apex. FYI, make sure the heater switches off during water changes, before I added switched I almost burnt up my sump when there was do water in the sump:rolleyes: I was distracted:oops::D

I live in Long Island... not sunny California but gloomy NY... I bought 2 300w Finnex... one as a backup.... should I leave them both in the sump? Or one dry in case one fails? My house is usually 68/72 degrees.

And thanks for the heads up with water change, I would of missed that
