I have two Hydor heaters (one for DT and one for salt mixing). Both are stuck on so I’ve been turning the heater on and off with a WiFi plug throughout the day but this is a dangerous game.

Can y’all recommend a very reliable heater(s) that holds constant temperature and don’t break after 9 months?

None........

So far I have tried Eheim, and others.
None have lasted.
There is hope though with the BRS Titanium units and a controller.

I have my Apex controling the temp.
My tank has never been more stable since I implemented the BRS heater.

Dang not whatI wanted to hear but thanks for the honest opinion!

Yes, reliability seems to depend on individual unit. That said I have five Eheim's and have been relatively satisfied. I've also had pretty good luck with the InkBird wireless controller with two temp probes. Frankly, the BRS "brand" Inkbird and titanium heater didn't perform well for me.
BTW, BRS does have a video re: best heaters

Yea this has always been an issue in the industry.
The lack of reliable heaters.
I also have Hydors that suck.

But at this point they are all in the drawer for emergency or backup use.

Schlego titanium eheim and JBL have been running for years in my tank with a controller for redundant protection. I run 3600w of heaters and have them set In 2 groups on different circuit breakers with independent control for each group. It's important to properly size your heaters so they do t run non stop or start and stop every 15 min ....

Totally agree with sizing them accordingly.

All heaters will fail.

My preference are Eheim Jagers.....the thickest glass.

Now, regardless of the brand heaters, run them through a controller.

I'd also suggest two smaller heaters versus one large one. This way, when one fails the temperature won't fall too far.

And FYI, you can still use that "stuck on" heat using a controller.
