I will check out the cobalts, thanks!I recently tried 2 Finnex heaters with controllers , but neither would work, so I sent them back. I now use Cobalt heaters. Supposedly they are the most accurate at least according to BRS.
Have the heater into inkbird, inkbird into apex for redundancy. Just always grabbed whatever heater the LFS had at the time, have never put enough thought into it. So figured I would ask lol thank you! Most would recommend a 2 stage approach for safety.
A heater, like eheim Jaeger plugged into a controller like an inkbird.
Set the eheim to 80, set the inkbird to 78.
If the inkbird fails on, the eheim will shut off at 80, a little warm, but not fish
soup.
Most heaters cycle around 2 points, set point less 1 deg for on, setpoint plus 1 degree for off for example.I recently tried 2 Finnex heaters with controllers , but neither would work, so I sent them back. I now use Cobalt heaters. Supposedly they are the most accurate at least according to BRS.
