Heater redundancy

Hi all,
I'm looking for some opinions on heater redundancy.
I have an Ehiem Jager heater and a sonoff temperature controller.
Both obviously have the ability to turn on and off but which one is better for norma use and which one for a failsafe.
Currently I have the controller set to turn on at 24.5' and turn off at 25.5' and the heater set to 25' so the controller is on full time and the heater is doing its regular thing.
Should I leave it or have it so the controller turns on and off and let the heaters built in thermostat be the failsafe?

I personally prefer to have the internal thermostat as the failsafe and use the controller as the on/off trigger.

Same here. Controller set at 78, heaters set at 79

Okay thanks, I was gonna do that originally but I figured Eheim has a better name/quality than sonoff.
