Hi,
I’m in the process of upgrading to a 40 Breeder, and given the unique dimensions of the tank, I’m wondering whether to go with a 150W heater or 200W. Any advice?

Depends in temp u keep the house partially, but in any case i would use 2 100 watt if you can make room for it. If one fails on it will likely not be enough to kill your stuff very quickly. If one fails off the other one can should be able to keep temps at least reasonable until you notice.

Or get a 200watt with an inkbird or similar at least that way you have an extra failsafe and can get notifications when temps out of range.

It's probably best practice to go with two smaller ones attached to an inkbird or some other type of temp controller. This is so one heater being stuck on won't nuke your tank and kill everything.

i currently have two 100w on my inkbird. due to the cold winter months i have been contemplating on increasing the wattage to maybe 150w/200w per heater to be on the safe side..
