Running out of room in my sump and need to move my heater, anyone see a problem with putting it in it the overflow box?

Only if the water drains out of your overflow box or falls below the portion of the heater that needs to be immersed.
I’ve never had that problem so sounds like it should be fine then. Appreciate it.

You will probably want to check on it more frequently than you did when in the sump as it's now placed pre-filter as opposed to post-filter (and will accumulate more algae, detritus, etc.)

Ah ok so maybe sone more maintenance than before. Only other option is inside the tank and I really do t want that.
