Heaters Removing / Bypassing onboard Controller???

So I have 2 fairly new like 4months old Finnex Titanium heaters, And I got the control boxes wet, One Smoked and the other I unplugged but was acting funky, So my Question is has anyone bypassed the controller, Is it just a heating element wired straight to line voltage after? Im going to try and take a look tonight

Just buy a new controller module or plug them into a controller (apex, RA,RK) because without a controller attached the will never turn off....

Thats the Idea Im already running them through an apex. Just want to save $100 for a year till I replace them
