Ok my peeps got a question.. What is the best heater"not to break the bank" for a120 gal? I have used aqua tops and I am now fixing to be on my fourth one"thank God for warranty"..

I prefer Eheim and have used them for 15+ years without a single problem. Currently running about 8 of them from 25-300 watts. Once dialed in they're pretty accurate. I've tried others but have experienced failure/ stray current leaked at some point. Either way it's best to run them on a controller with temp monitor so they can shut off if the heater gets stuck in the on position and cooks your tank.

Well, considering the #1 reason for tank crash is faulty heaters this is my advice. Titanium Fennex heater and a heater controller. Though I use APEX, I take it you don't have one. However I would strongly suggest getting the Jr. Even if only for the heater, you will find it useful and can add to it later.

Would completely agree with getting a controller with whatever heater u choose. Both suggested heaters are decent choices, i use 2 heaters in my tank, one hidden in the display(in case return pump fails) and one in the sump. Like bif24701 said, heaters are big causes of tank crashes, whatever can happen, most likely will at some
point. Happy reefing.
