What brand is best ?and for 300 gallon tank do I need 800 or 1000?

Eheim Jager. Depending on where you live and how cold, I think 800 would suffice, but I could be wrong...

Not to hijack.... but what did you go with? I'm shopping for a heater as well. Will be about 250 gallons total. I've always done Eheim, but they are so dang long. Won't fit in the sump! Is anything else worth looking at?
