Any recommendations for a reliable heater?

I am a fan of the Eheim Jager TruTemp heaters. They are simple technology but reliable. Make sure to check the temperature though as they can need to be calibrated when they are new. I have used the Neo-Therm heaters by Cobalt aquatics that many people in the hobby swear by. While it was super accurate in temperature with very small fluctuation in temperature, mine failed within 8 months. I guess this is not typical but just my two cents.
