Heating question

I upgraded my sump form a 40 gallon diy to a trigger 34 sump. I went to put my heaters into sump and there too long. I have a 120 gallon tank and was wondering two things:
How many heaters does everyone run and what total wattage for that size setup.
Are there any high watt heaters that will fit into a 14 inch sump

They might fit in a 14" sump.

Depended on your climate, 500 to 600 watts should be able to heat that size tank. The cobalt neotherm would be a good option. Two 300 watt heaters and they're only 11 inches long

Most 300 watt are 19inch the colbolt look like,they will fit. Price is steep tho

Agree, price on them is pretty high. But I will say that after the redesign, they have given me no issues whatsoever and keep my tank at the most stable temp out of any heater i've used

I will Have to buy one at a time and have one of my bigger ones hang out for a bit

I like the finnex titanium ones. On a controller of course. They are shorter than the glass heaters and not as expensive as neotherms. I usually follow the rules of thumb of 3-5 watts per.gallon depending on where you are, broken up into two smaller heaters.

I run 3x300 watts on a 125 gal in northern Pa if there’s me fails the other two will keep it up to temp
