So i'm in the process of filling up the tank for the first time, I have heated the water in the trash can to help the salt dissolve but should i be heating it in the tank as well? sand on the bottom including arag-alive. The bacteria won't be going in for a few more days once the tank is completely full and running correctly.

The reason I ask is because the heater will ultimately be in the sump but i'd have to add the heater temporarily to the DT in order to keep it warm while i make a second batch of water.

Nah it is okay, you don't need to heat the water in the tank and in the trash can at the same time in this instance. All good. ^_^
