I’m am wondering if my m-100 will melt pump and divider wall that separates the filter chamber for Main display chamber. The bottom of my heater is tightly sitting against pump and divider wall making contact with both services I have put heater in bucket to adjust heat temperature setting and when he felt heater and held for a min it was very hot. Should I move heater to main display?

If you could it would be best to have a little bit of separation. You dont want a heater hot spot . Might cause premature failure. I doubt it can melt acrylic as long as there is water in the sump.

Is it save to put heater in main display other than being an eye sore? The sump chamber is already a tight fit with the pump in there. If I pull heater up to get separate from the pump then unit won’t allow me to put back cover on over filter chamber and leaves me a little concerned about maintaining water level on heater.

Thanks I’m new to saltwater so any advice is much appreciated.

Show us a picture of your sump. That will help in being able to locate a better placement for the heater.
