Suffering from your tank hitting 80, 81, 82, 83 degrees?

POOR MAN's CHILLER RECIPE:

Go to grocery store and get a box of gallon freezer ZipLoc bags

Fill the freezer bags with topoff water and FREEZE a few of them in your freezer. Into solid block of ice that are sealed in the ZipLoc.

Put 1, 2, 3 freezer bags in your sump to cool off water during your known high temp points during the day. Number of bags depends on your needs.

Not home but working? Get whoever is home to do it for you. Its a chore that anyone can do....

The freezer bag shouldn't leak, but if it does its just topoff water, so big deal.

Keep rotating freezer bags in and out....morning and evenings.

Love the 2liter tip!

Wonder though if the freezer bag would have more surface area to cool..... but maybe too much surface area where the bags unfreeze too quickly. Maybe a 2liter would hold its ice longer? i'll have to try it.

I have 2 ice cube trays filled with RODI in the freezer. When necessary, I use them instead of topping off the tank with liquid RODI.
