So I have been reading alot on this site for a while now, but I just decided to join tonight. It was suggested that I start a build thread. So here I am!

I have a 29 gallon biocube, back removed, and drilled for an overflow and a return line. I have a custom stand, which will house a 40 breeder sump/fuge. I am at a stand still because of finacial issues but should be slowly gathering items.

Here are some pictures.

I am really interested to see where this goes. I like to see what kind of mods people make to biocubes to make them better. Keep up on updates please.

Wow i like how you removed the wall and the chambers. You wouldnt even need. A power head in that tank.

Im sorry I have been MIA lately. I have been on 100% crack down with school and work. The time I have had for my tank I have been working on a sump design. The plan was for a 40 breeder, however I have a 20 long and a 20 high sitting downstairs that havent been used. My thought is to use the 20 high as a fuge, and the 20 long as a sump. I would drill the 20 high and put a PVC over flow in it and have it drain into the 20 long.

However i have a couple questions. Would it be better to have my main tank drain into just the fuge and then the fuge drain into the sump, or would it be better to have the main tank drain into both the fuge and the sump (with the fuge still draining into the sump) so that i can control the flow through the fuge?

Thanks,
Zak

Personally I like to have my fuge flow straight to my display. It allows for a more natural feed for the fish. But either way you mentioned is fine too. Depending on what u want to keep in your fuge, would determine how much flow u want going through it.

How did you create the seals around the back of the biocube? I'm thinking of doing something similar and I'm worried about leaks.
