The fish were breathing very heavily before peroxide treatment but normally after.

So, 100ppm huh? How do you calculate how much 3% hydrogen peroxide to dose in order to achieve this concentration? And how long were they in this concentration before being moved to QT?

FWIW; I'm not trying to have a go at you. I'm genuinely interested in testing this protocol out on fish with velvet.

I was under the impression that 3% hp is 0.882 Molar. Is that incorrect?

And how long were they in this concentration before being moved to QT?

They were in the dt overnight, but the majority of the bubbling stopped after 4 hours. I'm assuming that means much of the hp had decomposed by that point. Unfortunately, the rate constants for the decomposition of hp are dependent on how much organic matter is in the tank, so it's hard to estimate how much remains at any moment.

Note: I added the hp to buy time and save formalin. I discovered the heavy breathing at night and didn't feel like setting up the qt and catching the fish until the next day. If you're looking for a complete hp protocol, there are a couple of reports on R2R of people who used hp to eliminate velvet. I mentioned hp on this thread because anyone who has access to a drug store has access to hp and can buy time until he can access his chemical of choice, eg. formalin, copper, cp, etc.

Thanks everyone for all of your help, but unfortunately the foxface couldnt make it. And the worse part of all of this is, i still dont know what had happened to him. Atleast if i would have got even a brief idea what had happened to him, it would have helped me to treat fishes in similar condition.

Anyways, considering buying a lieutenant tang for 180 gallon. Already have purple and kole in qt, will all of these three will get along? And is 180g sufficient for a lieutenant tang?
