Just starting a 14 gallon Biocube that ill be running a kessil 150 over. No hood with a piece of plexi covering it to help with evaporation. I know it's a lot of light for a little tank, so I'm wondering how high to hang it? I've been told around 12" from the water and cycle it on about 8hrs a day to start.

Up to you. You want coverage for the whole tank. You'll need to light acclimate any coral your planning on getting. If you';ve already got corals, you might want it way up there to begin with, or put some screen on top of the tank to keep the full light off of it.

You could throw that on the tank if you wanted to. Its 90 watts of LED. Thats huge though.
