Have 2 helfrichi in QT where a tang just died of unknown disease about a week ago. Fire fish are eating and healthy and show no signs of disease. When would be an acceptable time to move over to DT granted no signs of disease or proper protocol to move over?

i assume you are dosing copper in the tank, correct?

i personally would wait longer but thats just me

im not an expert but i think some diseases can live through copper so if the tang died from one of those then i guess the firefish could have it...

If display has/had known disease, allow 45-60 days to allow tromonts and other stages to die off without a host fish. If fish are properly treated, parasites CANNOT live through copper

oh ok cool i was thinking brook uronema could live through copper

Display is free of disease these fish were never in the display only QT. I think the tang might have had something internal or flukes because he stopped eating so all 3 fish went through prazi in the QT and the tang ended up dying. Fire fish are still in the same QT

if I switch the fire fish to another QT I’m not sure what that would solve if they’re infected but not showing

I'm very conservative. I will wait at least 45 days after any fish has died from unknown reasons before moving fish in the same tank out of quarantine and into a display tank.
