While it is easy to differentiate between a NY Knick versus an Aussie Gold, I still can't figured out the difference between a Hellfire and Dragon Soul. I search this forum and the Internet, but it cast more doubts. Please see photos what they are saying. Any help would be appreciated.

I typically consider a hellfire to have a deeper orangish/gold with purple lines on the tentacles no green around the mouth as an NYK should have.

The problem is no one really knows. Scientists will tell you the region and specific genus of the euphyllia but will never give you a designer name. As you've already found no two vendors can agree either on what exactly a hellfire is or should look like. It'll always look different based on lighting, photo editing, what camera took it. I DO AGREE that there will be general similarities in colors and size which will help identify what region it's from.

So true. Discovered by, marine biologist, or scientists do not provide boutique names as you pointed out and every new hobbyist should have this stamped somewhere on their respected tank!!!!

The difference is the name they tell you and the price they tell you.
IMO you’re better off finding Corals that you like and ignoring the names as usually the name is just a way to squeeze more money out of you.

“Oh this special aaa grade ultra hellfire torch has small hints of yellow therefore it’s worth 3x what the dragon killer magma soul torch”
Says the person who paid insane amounts of money for the same thing multiple times
