Hello all from Colorado

welcome r2r.jpg

Thanks! I'm having a great time and so is my wallet! These TSA Hammers are out of this world. Love them!
I have SEVERAL!!! You will not be disappointed.

Hello everyone,

After an excruciating amount of time in undergrad and graduate school, I am free! In the last 2 years, I moved from Oklahoma to Indiana and then to Colorado. I purchased my first home and in the last 2 weeks I picked up a Fluval Evo 13.5 to dip my toes back in to the hobby. I have a decent background in all things aquarium from my time working at "Wet Pets by Steve" in Norman, Oklahoma. Big shout out to the crew there for teaching me so much about the hobby. It's been a great base for being successful in keeping a variety of tanks.

My favorite Corals are Euphilia and my favorite fish is the Sailfin Tang. I hope one day to own a tank large enough to house another Sailfin.

Welcome! Glad you joined. CONGRATULATIONS on having achieved so much! You sound like the type of person that sets goal, then achieves goal - if big enough tank for your sailfin becomes goal, then I know you'll have it!

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Thanks everybody!

@Fish Think Pink Thanks for the kind words and the guide. I have a friend that's about to embark on his first reef tank and I've already passed that along for him to start reading and learning.

I have a build thread on Nanoreef that I'll have to transport over here. Unfortunately, while small and cozy, that forum is a little dead.

In the house I bought, I have a very large basement, but currently I have a friend living down there that works early hours, so my wife and I don't go down there as much. When he moves out we plan to put in a big sectional couch, projector, and now a 180+ gallon tank. So it looks like my Sailfin dream will come true eventually :P
