My name is Lee and I am new to reef's. I have always had freshwater tanks but love saltwater tanks so I decided to take the plunge. I have a 150 gal with sump, protein skimmer, phosban, uv sterilizer, radion lights and powerheads.
I recently lost all fish do to a disesase which is not fun so I have my corals remaining and i love the corals the fish are just a bonus to me. So I am waiting 30 days before I put fish back in :cry: but i know its a must do. The uv sterilizer is working but still waiting my time.
I ask alot of questions alot and i will apologize ahead of time for it. :bigsmile:

What killed all your fish? Depending on what it was you should stay without fish for 8-10 weeks, unfortunately.

well I got a fish that was infected with Velvets disease so it of course wiped out my entire stock. the lone survivor is the baby maroon and im having a heck of a time catching him so the tank will be fish free and not allow another to host.
I have been told 30 - 60 days for tank to just be with not stock so im going to do what i must because i do not want this to occur again.

No 1st hand experience with velvet. My experience with going fallow in my DT was because of Ick. Sorry not much help there.
