5-10 N03 is a good target for a reef tank. 0 is bad.
Coraline algae is a good indicator of good water pramameters and lighting, but really doesn't tell you the whole story. Water testing is the best way to measure.
Addition of rocks, snails, frags..... with coraline algae is the best way to get the the ball rolling on it's growth. Adding supplements to enhance it's growth isn't necessary. Good husbandry and time it will grow.
