Hello all

New question: After having 2 tanks running on the small size, thinking of setting up a 130. My question concerns cycling dead rock in a brute trash can in a garage located in Texas. We are starting to see summer heat and was curious if I should invest in a chiller to cycle the dead rock. The plan is to cycle in trash cans that will be stored in a garage during the summer months. The water temperature will routinely clime into the 90 degree range very quickly and will maintain this temp for the next 3 months or so. Will it be acceptable to just ride out the sustained temperature or should I look into the chiller route?

I would not see any issues. It’s hot but not an extreme. May I Suggest a fan across the top to help.

You doing a build on your set up?

I will be. Going to go the water box 130. Plan on ordering the tank within the next serval months but wanting to get a head start on the rock cycle. Started several tanks with local fish store live rock but wanting to go with a clean slate this time around. Thank you for your input!

I have been happy with the little guy. He is a hardy fish and has been in the tank for 2 years. I have seen displayed aggression with the fire fish, but nothing to be alarmed with. Constantly active. Now, would I go with one again, probably not. Would be a cool single fish to have in a system on the small side.
