Hello everyone,

I started in the saltwater hobby back in 2010. First aquarium was a 14 gallon biocube (still have it just not using it at the moment). Quickly upped it to a 40 breeder that I ran as predictor tank then reef. Ended up with a 29 marineland cube running on a canister filter (HB-303). The wife and I had our first child and we decided to get out of the hobby for lack of time. This last February I decided to set up my biocube with a beta and a few other fish. Didn't take long to decide that freshwater was not my liking and set up the 29 gallon cube. I dumped more money into it to upgrade the filtration and lights. Now my desire for the larger fish has me working on a 120 (4x2x2) planet aquarium reef ready with heritage stand and canopy. For this I had to remove a ventless fireplace from the living room, fix the drywall, re-carpet, and move the TV to a different wall. I still have a few things to get before having it up and running but should be going by year end. Got a 40 gallon breeder for the sump, reef octopus 200int, aqua ultraviolet 25 watt, and current USA e-flux 3100GPH DC return pump. I still need sand, heater, instant reef corals (fish only tank), ATO and reservoir, bucket of matrix, 4 marinepure plates, and some plumbing. I'll be using an old 4 bulb T5 36" fixture from one of the past tanks. I'm sure I'll have some questions as I go and am glad I found a source for information. Been reading the threads since the beginning of my journey just decided it was time to join. If there is anything I'm missing for this new build please let me know so it can be considered before the start up. Thanks everyone and I look forward to growing with knowledge in this hobby.

One more thing:
My first go around in the hobby I didn't quarantine anything. This time around I'm taking the risk. I currently have a 20 gallon in the bedroom running on that old HB-303 with the biocube skimmer and a self contained 5w UV.

Welcome to R2R!!! Gonna be a great looking tank!
Thanks, the wife said she didn't want a cheap looking stand. Had to look good and match the rest of our furniture. Gave me a reason to get an upgraded stand and canopy.

Welcome to R2R and back to the reefing game:) Nice setup!!
thanks, glad to be back. Didn't really want to get out but just didn't have the time to give it what it needed. Youngest kid is now 2 so the 2 of them occupy each other a little more now.

I use a Tunze 3155 Osmolator with a 10 gal top off tank on a 120 gal Dt and love it, people like the Tunze because of reliability.

Any reason it's better than the micro? Fail safes?
Personal experience with Tunze. Great quality. Optical and float sensors. My current unit has been flawless for over a year - with zero maintenance. And here's the biggie: awesome customer service. Nice people and they know their product.
