Greetings to everyone!
I have been lurking around for awhile learning as much as I can. A big thank you to everyone for that! I recently bought a used tank and figured it was time to create my profile.
So a little about myself. I live in Tuscaloosa, AL (Can I get a ROLL TIDE) with my beautiful wife and four daughters. I work for the local Anheuser-Bush distributor as a sales rep.
My parents had a freshwater tank growing up, and it was never really anything that drew my interest. I always thought saltwater tanks were amazing though. I had always heard the old saying they were near impossible to keep and had pretty much written it off. A little while back something sparked that interest back up. I started researching everything that I could. Decided I was going to give it a try. I personally have always liked the square type tanks over the rectangular, but the wife likes the rectangle ones better, so naturally that’s what I got. With this being such an expensive hobby, I want her on board with everything as well. We ended up buying a 75gal used tank with some fish, and what we thought were three different types of corals. So yes, it has already been a journey. You should have seen the look on the LFS guys face when we asked him how to stop a coral from spreading all over the tank. I’ll post a picture of that “coral” for y’all. It’s been fun and can’t wait to get some more coral and add some color! Our tank is by no means as amazing as a lot of the ones posted here, but this one is ours and we are proud of it. It constantly catches us walking by and we just stand there and stare. It’s amazing!
