Hello guys, I'm new here but not new to marine tanks. I have just added some new fish to my tank for the first time in a long while. Three wrasses and an orchid dottyback. One of the wrasses disappeared for 9 days after I put it them into the tank but eventually emerged and seemed fine until today. It is eating well enough for a new fish but it has two whitish lumps on it side today, one large and one small, and I'm absolutely terrified that it is white-spot. Could you guys please take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think??

hopefully someone else responds because I am not the most experienced at stuff like this, but , it looks like it could be ich to me. I would just start researching some treatments.

Thanks for the replies! Apart from initially dissappearing for more than a week he's been acting normally for a new fish, still a bit shy but getting more confident and feeding better every day. No fin flicking or darting against things like he's trying to rub something off. The small spot seems to be gone now and the bigger one is significantly smaller and less white than only a few hours ago. Now I'm wondering if it had a fight with my A-Hol£ clownfish. One of the other new fish had a big nip taken out of his tail a few days ago and I'mprettysureitwas the clownfish. I'm at work now but I'll take more pictures in the morning and I'll be watching every fish in the tank very closely now. Fingers crossed!!!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

One spot is definitely too large to be ich, and the other one most likely is as well.

These are probably bumps/abrasions. However, there is always a pretty big risk when adding new fish to a tank that have not been quarantined. You'll want to watch for smaller white spots (grains of salt) that come and go. Rapid breathing, lack of appeitite or cloudy eyes.

I'm really hoping it is just a bit of physical damage. I remember now that I did disturb him yesterday because I had to move a large colony of candy canes and he darted into the sand a couple of times. Thanks for the welcome and the replies guys.
