Hello and introductions

Hi R2R. I'm venturing back into this hobby/obsession after almost a 3 year break and BOY have things changed :squigglemouth:.

Um .. about me ... um...

My nickname is Jo - I am a girl. My first tank was a FOWLR back when I was 16 ... 14 years ago (dont count! haha) and over the years I upgraded tank sizes and inhabitants till I reached the 75g SPS reef that broke my heart to tear down when I moved.

I worked in the hobby for 5 years caring for the 17,000g system at rainforest cafe, I also helped an ex with his store and maintance business in the past.

I moved from the East coast to CA to pursue my dream of acting in 2010 and thought I'd gotten out of the hobby for good. Then one of the directors I worked for gave me an old eclipse type tank that was just collecting dust. So here I am trying to figure out everything that has changed.

I'll probably have a ton of questions on all the new advancements in the hobby ... I mean, when I left LED's were looked down on. Now it seems they are pretty big.

Is that a good enough introduction?

Thats another thing I noticed, many more women in the hobby now haha yay!

Ever bring your signifigant other (who's not into reefs) into an LFS with you and have the employee's ignore you and ask him if he needs help? I always find that funny.

When setting up this new tank I even had a store employee offer to dig through the live rock ben so I'd not have to get my hands wet. As nice of an offer as that was ... should one really be in the hobby if they can't even touch their own rock?

I've been in a few indi's, a yogurt commercial, probably the biggest thing though is House of Lies, I am a galweather stern employee w a decent feature on the season finale. I'm a student in 90210 a lot. Never seen the show though haha.
