Howdy all,
My name is Phil, I'm from Ottawa, Canada, and I've been in the hobby for about 10 years now. A couple folks around here referred me to this site, and so far I'm impressed - so I figured I'd join the fun!
I started with a 75 gall0n tank back in 2006. I was in college at the time, so I kept it relatively simple - sumpless, 4xT5 light fixture, big coralife skimmer hanging off the side, etc... I certainly made the most of it, though.
My favorite part - S. Gigantea Anemone with my Maroon Clownfish pair:
After several years, I bought a house and set up a 40g sumpless breeder as a "temporary" tank. It ended up not being that temporary, and I kept it for several years as well, along with my Maroons and carpet anemone.
Some pics from other smaller tanks I had:
I maintained the 40g Breeder until just recently. My wife and I moved, and in the process I unfortunately had to sell most of the livestock I had.
However, just before the Christmas holidays I pulled the trigger on a CADlights Rimless Starfire 50 Gallon Cube aquarium. It came with nearly everything I needed aside from lights, and I already own a Radion. The build has progressed well past the point it is in the following picture, but I'll make a build specific thread for that.
So that's me! I'm glad I'm back in the hobby, and I'm happy to be a member of this forum. Hope you all have a great day!
Cheers,
Phil
