Name is Jay and I just wanted to say hi to everyone here in the forum.
I am really new to the hobby with no previous experience whatsoever with anything salt water related. But, I have been reading and watching videos in regards to getting my tank started correctly.
Here is what I currently have for my tank.
I was advised by my LFS to get a quarantine tank going would be the best course of action before anything else. Being a reptile keeper for a long time, I had a bunch of spare tanks, so I opted on using my 50 gallon acrylic tank as my quarantine. Got an air pump and a couple of large sponge filters. I did a DIY on the stand to hopefully save a little money.
As for my display tank. I opted to go with a 120 gallon 4x2x2 that I had custom made for the overflow and return. Again, I ended up doing a DIY for the stand but made sure that I overbuilt just to be safe. I added the a strip of LED on the bottom for the sump section of the build.
As for all other equipment, hopefully I can get them all delivered sometime this week to keep the project going.
My eventual setup.
2x Vortech MP40 power heads
Fluval SP4 pump (might change to Vectra M1)
Eshopps ADV-300 sump
Vertex Omega 200i skimmer
2.0L Vertex media reactor
Bubble Magus dosing system
1/4 hp Antarctica chiller
2x 100w cobalt heater
2x AP700 Kessil lights
Neptune control systems
ATK auto top off
And hopefully some awesome red piping
I will for sure share some pictures once the set up is complete. But for now, here are the pictures of the QT and the eventual display tank.
